The Farm Explorers
Discover. Investigate. Explore.

Looking for a little outdoor adventure? Welcome to The Farm Explorers at Penthwell Farm – where curious minds, muddy boots and a love of discovery come together!
Set within our working farm and surrounding countryside, Farm Explorers offers children and their grown-ups the chance to step away from everyday routines and enjoy hands-on adventures in nature.
From exploring woodland and discovering wildlife to learning about farm life, investigating the natural world and getting creative outdoors, every session brings something new to discover.
What to expect
Each two-hour session follows a seasonal theme, with a mixture of exploration, practical challenges, investigations and hands-on activities.
Our adventures might include:
-
Woodland and nature exploration.
-
Discovering wildlife and animal tracks.
-
Learning about our sheep and farm life.
-
Nature hunts and discovery challenges.
-
Outdoor crafts and creative activities.
With changing seasons, there is always something new to explore!
Small groups, shared adventures
Farm Explorers is a parent-inclusive experience, giving children and their grown-ups the opportunity to discover, learn and make memories together.
We keep our groups deliberately small, with a maximum of four children per session, allowing plenty of time and space for everyone to explore at their own pace.
Our sessions are SEN-inclusive and designed to be welcoming, flexible and sensory-considerate. We recognise that every child is different and encourage participation in a way that feels comfortable for them.
Seasonal adventures
Throughout the year, our sessions follow the changing seasons:
-
Winter – Woodland Detectives: Discover animal tracks and investigate wildlife.
-
Spring – Life on the Farm: Explore farm life, sheep and lambs.
-
Summer – Wild Explorers: Discover habitats, nature and the great outdoors.
-
Autumn – The Great Nature Investigation: Explore autumn colours, seeds, leaves and natural treasures.
Is Farm Explorers right for your child?
Our activities are primarily designed with primary school-aged children in mind. However, we appreciate that age doesn't always reflect a child's individual abilities, interests or developmental stage.
Although our sessions are SEN-inclusive, we recognise that one experience will not suit everyone. We aim to make reasonable adjustments where possible, but cannot guarantee that every activity will be suitable for every child's individual needs.
Please note: Farm Explorers involves moving around our working farm, outdoor spaces and woodland. Ground conditions can be uneven and muddy, and not all areas or activities are wheelchair accessible.
If you are unsure whether the experience would be suitable for your child, or have particular access or support requirements, please contact us before booking. We are always happy to have a conversation.
